On to Phoenix

We spent Saturday driving to Phoenix and setting up at our regular spot near the McDowell Mountains. Typical of any normal drive, or day with Joanie, there is no straight line going anywhere. We took several side trips along the way but when she found out about “the best sandwich and fudge shop” I knew exactly where we were heading. Turns out it was in Florence, a great little city that shares a name with my mother…and what are the chances, today is my mom’s 103 birthday. Happy birthday in heaven mom!

After setting up for our week in Phoenix we decided to drive to Old Scottsdale and eat at our favorite Mexican restaurant…our tradition. I guess it wasn’t everyone’s favorite because after 30+ years they shut down. Guess we’ll have to start a new tradition.

Yesterday…hiking and watching the “boring” Super Bowl at our spot in Fountain Hills. No political messages on my site…but.

  1. Hello Marc and Joanie

Hope all is well with your travels

I was just informed that your precious daughter Brett has found the true love of her life and is engaged to be married. My prayers will be that Brett will experience the same true love and blessings our daughter Jenna is experiencing with her true love of her life. When David asked me to marry Jenna, I showed him a video of Michael Corleone and Carlos Rizzo and told him this is what happens to the next male that hurts my daughter. At first David said, Jenna’s friends told me you were a little off center, but I get it and he promised me he would never hurt her and that he would be in love her until Jesus came and got him. I said YES! Marc, I’m told Brett’s fiancé is a fireman he’s all about saving lives so I don’t think we will need the video.

Please tell Brett the Cossu family is very happy for her and safe travels.

    With nothing but love

    your brother

    1. Dave…fyi, you made Joanie cry. I myself, was deeply touched and yet at the same time highly amused. She did find a good one but most importantly he loves and adores Brett. It was an easy decision with Brian, just like yours with David. Hope to see you guys soon, it’s been too long!
